Principles for Success PCBN Pacific Coast Business Networking January 14, 2015

Success Everyone wants to be successful. But many people struggle with getting there. Often, it's because they don't have a clear definition of what success really is. Most have similar habits that you may want to incorporate into your activities.

Things Successful People Do Some people seem to achieve success more easily than others. Maybe because they regularly do things that others don't.

1. They Focus Many people try to do too many things. Successful people have learned that they need to focus on doing one or two things really well. They can easily team up with others who have complimentary skills. They also focus on the positive - what they want to happen, not worry about what could go wrong.

2. They Plan There are many arguments in the entrepreneurial community about the merits of business plans. The mistake in thinking by those opposed to the idea is that a business plan is a hard and fast schematic for the business. The most successful people always have a plan as a preliminary structure from which they can deviate. The benefit comes not from the plan but rather from the process of planning.

3. They Build Support Groups It's difficult to obtain success without involving other people. There is little success that can be easily achieved by one person. Life and business are too complex today. Successful people constantly engage other talent to help make a vision - reality.

4. They Continue to Learn No truly successful person actually believes he or she knows everything. The most successful people strongly believe they know less than most others. They love to learn and are aware of how much knowledge is out there for them to explore. And so they do.

5. They Initiate and Persist Successful people overcome procrastination and make progress toward their goals. Successful people never sit back when they need things to be done. They also persist until they succeed.

6. They Respect Others Successful people rarely look down on others. Most successful people earn mutual respect based upon their behavior and the value they bring to others.

7. They Evaluate before Acting Many people take things at face value. They don't question or investigate. Successful people are naturally curious. They like to dig down into the details to understand how things work and why the world is the way it is. Then they can decide how to engage most effectively.

8. They Give Appreciation It takes a lot of support to create success. Successful people are mindful of showing appreciation sincerely and often to those who help them achieve success. It's not hard, the thought of leaving someone un-thanked never even enters their mind.

They are Balanced Successful people have a holistic approach to life Physically healthy and energized Mentally focused Emotionally connected Spiritually aligned They seek Happiness and Emotional Satisfaction more than Monetary Gain

Additional Things Successful People Do They strive to get better not to be perfect. They treat failure as a valuable experience. They change their focus from a problem to an opportunity.

Additional Things Successful People Do They build emotional connections with others. They surround themselves with positive people. They have a positive self image and self esteem.

Additional Things Successful People Do They welcome and expect change. They manage their health with exercise and proper diet. and ** The Most Important!! They have PASSION and Love what they do.
