Reading ‘ Each child will read in a group with an adult twice a week. Children will have 3 books to take home. 1) Library book 2) Scheme book 3) Guided reading book

Spellings ‘ Spellings will start after the first half term. 5 spellings per week Note: Same spellings may be sent home again if children are not applying to their writing.

Phonics ‘ Phonics is the teaching of letters and the sounds they make. Stream for phonics across lower school (Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3). Children are put into groups and taught at their own level.

Homework Home work will be given out 2 weeks before the end of a half term.

Questions Do both classes learn the same thing? My child has a friend in the other class. Will they get to work together? How can we help at home?
