3 How is reading taught in Y3? O Children grouped by ability so able to target those who may need more support and challenge confident readers O Phonics sessions also link decoding skills (reading) to encoding skills (spelling)

4 How is reading taught in Y3? O Spring and Summer terms reading is taught through guided reading sessions

5 How is reading taught in Y3? O Some children may still need extra support and will have targeted small group work focusing on reading, phonics and other literacy skills

6 This is not the only reading Y3 children do. It happens everywhere, every day of the week!
