Mission Statement The mission of the ISU GIS Council is to facilitate, coordinate and advance the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related geospatial technology across ISU departments and units for teaching, research, and campus management purposes.

Fortunately, we likely won’t have to develop wise, diplomatic solutions to resolve issues confronting the entire Galaxy… …but we can make a difference with GIS at ISU!

Goals and Objectives Multiple Roles for the ISU GIS Council… – Leadership and Coordination – Collaboration – Braintrust – Support Group – Others?

Participants All ISU Faculty, Staff, and Administrators are welcome to participate! Diverse Backgrounds of Participants: – Research – Teaching – Campus management purposes Subcommittees for specific initiatives

Meeting Format Structured, yet Flexible Business Session (~40 minutes) – Goal: To facilitate discussion and to develop a course of action for important topics of interest to the GIS community at ISU Synergy Building Session (~20 minutes) – Goal: To provide a venue for ISU departments and units to share their current practices, goals, and challenges related to GIS with other Council members.

Logistics Meeting time and place: – UPC 228, 12:00-1:00 PM the first Thursday of the month in alternating months? – No meetings during the summer or semester breaks Meeting minutes Webpage – Communication by ; Creation of a List-Serve
