Writing in Social Studies
The Social Studies Paragraph 1.A paragraph must have a minimum of five sentences 2.A paragraph must have a thesis or topic sentence. 3.A paragraph must be written in 3rd person. 4.A paragraph must be supported with factual data. 5.A paragraph must use appropriate Social Studies vocabulary. 6.Social studies writing should be formal. Slang, contractions, and abbreviations should not be used.
The APHG Free Response Question 1.Write in complete sentences. 2.Stay organized. If you are answering Part A, indicate that on your writing. 3.Write NEATLY, and in pen. You can always cross something out if you make a mistake. 4.Write in third person. (No “I”) 5.Do not write an intro or conclusion. 6.Do not use abbreviations, contractions, or slang. 7.Geographers want simple answers to their questions. You cannot impress me by writing a novel. 8.Writing is ALWAYS formal. 9.Skip lines between questions and between the different parts of the question
