Education for work-a chance for a better life of Roma citizens Alba Iulia is the capital of Alba County and Centre Region, being a city defined of national importance by law; A city with 5000 years of vivid and tumultuous history and a lot of cultural and anthropic heritage that illustrates this historic background; The very well preserved Vauban Fortress from Central and Eastern Europe; Alba Iulia is a medium sized level growing urban pole, that concentrates the economic, social, cultural and institutional interests of more than 100,000 inhabitants (including the rural areas that have a polycentric development surrounding the Municipality);

Education for work-a chance for a better life of Roma citizens GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT Improving access to labor market of Roma population in the city of Alba Iulia, in the context of sustainable and equitable partnership between public authorities and the Roma community, respecting the principle of equal opportunities for full integration into society

Education for work-a chance for a better life of Roma citizens SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT Development and providing sustainable employment measures for a total of 35 Roma people in the city of Alba Iulia by acquiring qualifications, skills and abilities required in the labor market. Diminishing skills shortages of Roma people by creating a culture in the sphere of employment and increasing the potential of employability through active measures with emphasis on labor mediation services

Education for work-a chance for a better life of Roma citizens Direct beneficiaries of training courses: Young Roma graduates of compulsory education 8 / 10 classes, with ages up to 35 years - 10 people. Another 30 peoples benefited indirectly from the project by improving professional performance, increasing the chances of reintegration that can provide a stable monthly income. Roma adults, unemployed, having/not having completed compulsory public education - 25 persons. Other 75 people benefited indirectly from the project's expected results, since the chances of integration into the community by improving individual performance in work and corresponding increase their monthly income

Education for work-a chance for a better life of Roma citizens Direct beneficiaries of the activities of advisory and mediation work: Roma adults, unemployed, having/or not having completed compulsory public education people. Another estimated 300 people from their informal network (family, relatives, neighbors) benefited indirectly from the project

Education for work-a chance for a better life of Roma citizens Results achieved it was established a database for job vacancies were prepared individual professional advice sheets;40 people have been mediated was drawn up a portfolio of counseling, which includes: models of resumes, letters of intent, job search techniques;103 people were counseled social / professional III.were organized two training courses with nationwide recognized diplomas training course for builder, mason, plasterer: 19 people have completed the course confectioner / assembler textile articles training course: 26 people have completed the course
