UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM Presentation Information

Undergraduate Research Symposium Poster or PowerPoint session format Each student will exhibit a poster or PowerPoint explaining her/his research or internship project (see overview slide of poster layout) Each student will provide a short (3 to 5 minute) oral summary. If exhibiting a poster, students are responsible for printing.

Presentation Contents (Honors & Independent Studies Students) Introduction – Background on research topic Goals / Objectives of research Approach or methods – explanation of how the research was conducted Results – Present results in figures, graphs tables, and provide brief text discussing the results Conclusions – Provide a summary of the conclusions for your work.

Presentation Contents (Internships) Introduction- What was the project? Goals / Objectives of the internship-What did you do? What did you contribute to the internship? 1. What skills/knowledge were you able to apply from your Geography related coursework to your internship? Identify specific courses if relevant. 2. What did you bring to the internship? Results-What kind of skills/knowledge did you gain from your internship that will help you in the future? Conclusions- Provide a summary of the conclusions for your work/internship.
