Box turtles like a lot of foods. Box turtles favorite foods are algae and slugs. Box turtles mostly eat plants. Box turtles like shellfish and sponges. Box turtles have sharp beaks that are just right for munching red tomatoes and mushrooms. All Box turtles will like this food.

Female box turtles lay their eggs on land. The eggs will hatch in about 70 to 85 days. New born hatchlings will be about 1 ½ inches long. Mommy and daddy box turtles don’t take care of them. Motherhood is over pretty quickly for a female box turtles she lays her eggs, covers them in soil and walks off.

The turtle has little tail the turtle has little spikes at the bottom of his body. He often has yellowish brownish and reddish eyes. The turtle has little round scabs on his legs. He has sharp claws. A turtle has a tough shell. Turtles have no teeth in its mouth. A turtles shell protects from danger. On the turtles shell it has curvy lines to make the turtles shell fancy for the circles on him to have a fancy shell. The turtle has dry skin inside the shell. He has yellowish brownish color of the shell. A turtle’s adaptations are cool.

Box turtles live in many places. Box turtles live in water, like ponds and on land. And some live in the wild. Some live in North America, China, Northern Mexico, Malaysia, and Asia too. They bury themselves in the ground. Some dig as far as 5 1\2 feet and some turtles hibernate or go to sleep. Box turtles live on land and in the water.

Box turtle’s are so cool! The box turtle also called the Western box turtle is the second species of North American box turtles. An adult box turtle’s shell is from 4 to 5 ¾ inches long. Box turtles hide in their shells when they sense danger. The eastern box turtle’s top has a more colorful shell than does the three toed box turtle’s bottom. A boy turtle’s foot has pointy finger like toes. Aren’t box turtles so cool?
