Royal College of General Practitioners The RCGP is the professional membership body and guardian of standards for family doctors in the UK, working to promote excellence in primary healthcare.

The RCGP publishes journals, occasional papers, clinical guidance and reports. InnovAit. Personal Education Planning (PEP). Essential Knowledge Update Programme. British Journal of General Practice. RCGP Shop. Campaigns. Associate in Training (AiT) membership. Some of the services from RCGP

InnovAiT - InnovAiT is the RCGP journal promoting excellence in primary care through quality education. - Aimed predominantly at GP trainees, InnovAiT rotates through the whole RCGP curriculum on a three year cycle. - Each issue covers two clinical themes and one non clinical area. Regular features include: news section highlighting important policies, research and guidelines GP career profiles and insights from GPs at different stages in their careers exam tips for the MRCGP assessments Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) questions to enable readers to check their own knowledge 10 minute scenarios that can be used for tutorials, personal learning or discussion in groups.

PEP: Personal Education Planning PEP is the RCGP’s learning needs assessment programme. These online self-assessment tools help you to identify your learning needs for GP training, continuing professional development (CPD) and revalidation. By asking a series of MCQ based on everyday GP scenarios, you can spot the strengths and weaknesses in your current knowledge and so help you plan your own personalised educational programme. The PEP tools are integrated with the Revalidation ePortfolio so that your completion certificate and overall scores can be automatically uploaded when you are reviewing your CPD log.

Essential Knowledge Update Programme - Six monthly focused Essential Knowledge Updates on new and changing knowledge central to everyday practice. - The 15th Essential Knowledge Update in April 2015 consists of eight major items and twenty briefings, including: Diagnosis & Management of Drug Allergy in Adults, Children & Young People Female Genital Mutilation Chronic Prostatitis & Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome Assessment & Management of Bipolar Disorder in Adults, Children & Young People Atrial fibrillation & New Oral Anticoagulants in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Dyspepsia & Gastro ‑ oesophageal Reflux Disease Screening, Care & Treatment of Persons with Hepatitis C Infection Asthma, COPD & Asthma-COPD Overlap Syndrome - Essential Knowledge Challenge, an online applied knowledge test that help users assess existing knowledge and highlight their learning needs.
