Cornell Notes This year we have introduced Cornell Notes This method has your child revisiting their notes to reinforce the lesson. Visit the Note Taking section for information and video link or ask your child

Teacher Webpage  The students will be using my webpage quite often.  Please have them get into the habit of checking it regularly.  It is also help for the parents to check from time to time so they can monitor where we are in class.  Also when your child is lost or confused most of the information or directions will be there to help.  We will also be trying the “Remind” App

Grade Tests Quizzes Assessments Homework / Class work Projects/Writing Mid-term Final If the student maintains an A (92 or above) average for the first 3 MPs he/she will be excused from almost all 4th MP homework!

The students can sign up for the program that will send them text messages It allows me to send a reminder before tests, quizzes, projects, etc. You can sign up as well

REQUIRED RESEARCH PAPER Library / research skills Bibliography Thesis Outline Internal Citations Rough draft Final, organized paper; must follow directions Turnitin.com

WE WILL BE EXPLAINING HOW TO CREATE A RESEARCH PAPER IN GREAT DETAIL! OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE IT AS PAINLESS AS POSSIBLE. IF YOUR CHILD DOES NOT HAND IN A PAPER, THE PAPER DOES NOT CONTAIN INTERNAL CITAITONS OR IT IS PLAGIARIZED HE/SHE WILL BE TAKING WORLD HISTORY AGAIN NEXT YEAR! WARNING!!

PROJECTS In addition to the research paper the students will be: Planning a Virtual Trip (There are two parts and they count as part of the mid- term and final) Presenting reports Evaluating primary source articles

Extra Help I (We) will be available before and after school It is better to let us know ahead of time if they know they need to come in AM CRAM SESSIONS are available on the day of a test or quiz (helps ease test anxiety)

Please feel free to contact us if there is a problem or concern. We will get back to you! Period Period You can also set up a meeting in guidance

THANK YOU FOR COMING!
