Instructions In this unique PowerPoint game, you are the hero. You make the choices, and you face the consequences. To play, just click on the links to make your choices. Each link will bring you to a new slide, which might have math problems for you to solve or new choices to make. Remember, there are many endings, but only one is a successful ending. So good luck and be careful! Click here to continuehere

Background YOU are a foolhardy car racer who always enjoys racing. One day, you decide to take part in a race that has a prize of $ ! On the starting line, the competitors are gearing up their cars, all ready to race …… Click HERE to start.HERE

You hold a steady grip on the steering wheel of your car. Just then, the linesman fires his pistol to signal the start of the race! Will you: Accelerate? Trail behind the other cars?

You swerve your car and ram into the boot of the Mercedes with glee. You must answer this question to see the effects: Shop A has 153 kg of flour. Shop B has 75 kg of flour. After both shops sold an equal amount of flour, the ratio of rice that shop A has to shop B is 4:1. Find the amount of flour sold by the each shop. a)76kg b)78kg c)49kg

You stamp down on the accelerator and zoom ahead. In your side mirror you spot a red Porsche gaining speed. It seems to be trying to ram you from the back! Will you: Swerve to your right? Stay where you are and just move straight?

Bad choice! The Porsche hits your car with a resounding crash. Answer this question to see how much of the impact you take: 3/5 of Mary ’ s books was twice as many as Jane's books. Jane and Cheryl had books in the ratio 6 : 7. All of them paid a combined total of $528 on the books. Given that each book cost the same, how much did Mary pay for her books? a)$120 b)$320 c)$88

You trail behind the unwavering line of other cars. Suddenly, you see a sleek Mercedes having some problem with his engine. Will you: Take the chance to smash it from behind? Keep trailing behind the others?

The Mercedes, unable to take the full impact, veers off the road and explodes in a fiery ball of fire. You take its place alongside the other cars. Will you: Give your car a burst of acceleration? Try to crash the other cars?

You swerve to the right just in time to avoid the Porsche ’ s attack. Wiping sweat from your face, you notice that the Porsche has drawn level with you. It starts to close in on you again! Will you: Accelerate away? Brake hard to allow the car to pass you?

THE END Oops! Your car can ’ t take the impact and explodes! This is THE END for you. Click here to continue. here

You feel the bone-crushing impact on your car. But all is not lost! Looking behind, you spot the other cars. They look like tiny ants on the horizon! Seems like the winner will be decided between you and the Porsche! Will you: Increase your speed to the maximum? Slow down to trail behind the Porsche?

Ouch! Even you feel the impact when you crash into the Mercedes. You start to regret your action when your car begins to Wobble. Click on the link to continue. LINK

Answer this question: The estimated completion time for a particular 100 question exam is 31/3 hours. Ten students actually took the exam and completed it in 3 hours. What is the difference between the estimated and actual rate of completion per question? a) 14 seconds per question b) 12 second per question c) None of the above

THE END Your car goes out of control and veers off out of the road, crashing into a signpost. You know that there is no hope for you to win this race, so this is THE END for you. Click here to start over again.here

Solution The answer is option 2. The estimated time per question is equal to the estimated time / (divide) by the number of questions: 31 / 3x60 divide by 100 = 10/3x60 divide by 100 = 10x20 divided by 100 = 200 divided by 100 = 2 min. The actual time is equal to 3 hours (180 minutes). The actual time per question is equal to 180 min / (divide) by the number of questions: 180 / 100 = 1.8 min. The difference between actual time and estimated time =2 minutes – (minus) 1.8 min: =.2 min or.2 x 60 sec = 12 sec.

THE END You decide to swerve left. Spinning your steering wheel to the left, your car veers right into the path of the incoming Porsche! Too late, it rams into the side of your car and your car is sent spinning off the road, resulting in an explosion. Your adventure is over. Click here to continue.here

You step hard on the accelerator and zoom past the Porsche quickly. It also quickly speeds up, trying to draw level with you. When it does so, it attempts to ram you from the left, in hope of causing your car to crash. There is only 2 options, will you: Maneuver to the right? Maneuver to the left?

You are ahead of most of the other cars! The finishing line is just 250m ahead. Beside you is the Porsche. This is a race to the end between the 3 cars! Answer the 3 questions through the link below to determine your fate. LINK

Phew! What a close shave! The impact with the Mercedes does not damage your car too much so you continue to accelerate past the fallen Mercedes and catch up with the cars in the lead. Click on this LINK to continue.LINK

Your car executes a successful manoeuvre and dodges past the Porsche. But it is determined to race you to the end. Click on the link below to answer the final question which will decide your fate. LINK

THE END That was a fatal mistake. The Porsche grabs the opportunity to dash past you and zooms past the finishing line, which is just dead ahead. You have lost the race so this is THE END. Click here to start all over again.here

THE END Your greed has its consequences. You try to crash a Ford but instead, your car rebounds off its armour and swerves off the road, landing in a ditch. Your hopes of winning this race are all dashed. Click here to start a new game.here

You slowly feel that if you are to win this race, you must not lack behind. So, you decide to accelerate. Click the link below to continue. LINK

Answer this question Hourly rental rate is $12, plus $0.13 per km. John rented a truck to move some furniture. He picked up the truck at 9:30 AM and returned it at 1:00 PM. He drove a total of 16 km. How much was he charged for time and distance? a)$67.88 b)$44.08 c)$48.00

Solution 1 unit = 78 ÷ 3 = 26 kg Shop B sold 75 − 26 = 49 kg Each shop sold 49 kg of flour.

You accelerate past the Porsche and aim for the finishing line. The other driver senses your do-or-die plan and also charges towards the end. You must answer the last question to determine the winner of this race. Click THIS toTHIS continue.

THE END You accidentally released the accelerator, causing you to slow down. The Porsche zooms past you to win the race. This is THE END for you. Click here to journey to your next life.here

Answer this 2 nd question: 5 village buses carries 630 people each fortnight. How many people does a bus carry per year? (1 year = 365 days) a) people b)126 people c)3285 people

Answer your final problem: Fulham FC has a record of losing 7 soccer Matches for every 9 they win this year. If Fulham had 80 matches during this year, What is the ratio of the losses to the wins (not simplifying the ratio) a)45:35 b)80:16 c)64:16

THE END You accidentally step on the brakes, causing your car to jerk violently, spinning off the road. Your adventure is over. Click here to start a new game.here

THE END Unfortunately, your engine cannot withstand the speed you are driving at and your car explodes. Your race is over. Click here to journey to your next lifehere

VICTORY! You give your car a last burst of speed and cross the finishing line, just a split second before the Porsche. You have clinched the prize of $ Now your race is truly over and you can gain some deserved rest. Please get your prize from Jia Shing or Khe Han Click here to play againhere

Solution Jane has 3/10 of Mary ’ s books, since Jane has 2 times less books than 3/5 (6/10) of Mary ’ s. Jane:Cheryl:Mary 1unit= $528/(6+7+20) 6 : 7 : 20 = $16 Thus, Mary spent= $16 x 20 = $320

Solution 9.00AM to 1.00PM = 3hr 30min (3.5hr) Hourly charge= 3.5 x $12 = $42 Distance charge= 16km x $0.13 = $2.08 Total fee= $42 + $2.08 = $44.08
