Intel ISEF 2012 – Educator Academy 9 Intel ISEF Educator Academy Reflection As a result of the 2012 Educator Academy, we…… –Obtained important insights into effective teaching/learning from Carl Weiman’s exceptional presentation. –Had time to network and strategize within and across regions (most beneficial element – THANK YOU!). –Beneficial shop talks: Intel resource review, flipped classroom, science research collaborative, thinking about data, creating a culture of research, and PHET. –Shop Talks missing: Models aligned with Wieman’s approach in which “experts” partner with teachers to bring content knowledge and expert thinking to teams. Ways of addressing accessibility for students from underserved communities. Building the pathways into science research in high schools (K- 12 strategy).
