One-Stop Workforce Center Work First

A One-Stop Workforce Center is a location where a wide range of employment, training, and career education program services are available to employers, workers and job seekers at no charge.

 One-Stop Workforce Centers leverage public workforce dollars with other state and local funding; business resources and services; and foundation support to provide: ◦ informational services ◦ job search assistance ◦ occupational skills training assistance  Deliver workforce solutions ◦ These services and resources are available to job seekers ◦ Workforce Solutions are also available to local employers

 Post job announcements  Identify and refer qualified workers to fill job openings  Provide information about available resources and tax credits  Create On-the-Job Training Programs  Customized Training  Incumbent Worker Training for Layoff Aversion  Provide local Labor Market information

 Hands on training that you design  A cash payment to offset training costs  An opportunity to train employees your way.  An investment in your company.

 Opportunity Inc. staff will match qualified applicants with approved job openings.  Opportunity Inc. will also assist you in designing a training plan to meet your unique business needs.

 Pre-qualified applicants who are referred to you by Opportunity Inc. - OR-  Applicants you send to us for eligibility screening. Opportunity Inc. will notify you if they qualify or not

 Workers displaced due to plant closure  Workers laid off because of downsizing.  Homemakers interested in entering or re-entering the labor force.  Military service members who have recently retired or separated from active duty.  Other workers who need training

 Employ full-time workers.  Operate year-round.  Enjoy low employee turnover.  Pay an hourly wage or salary.  Prefer long-term employer/employee relationships.  Realize the benefits of investing in their employees.  Like to save money.  Employ any number of workers.

 The paperwork is minimal and Opportunity Inc. does it for you.  Quality training reduces employee turnover which saves you money.  Low employee turnover reduces operating costs.  Lower operating costs increases profits.  Everyone wins – your business and your employees.  On-the-Job training can be used in conjunction with the Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program.
