TITLE SLIDE

What will BehaviourWatch provide for your school? a bespoke BfL solution a superb tool for analysing and communicating data an easy system for staff to log positive and negative incidents a paperless system that saves time The following slides will give a brief overview of the system; if you like what you see call us in to show you the complete picture…

You decide on levels or categories for your incidents, the incident descriptions and also the actions that staff can take when they log an incident, giving consistency across the school. An incident slip will look like this, but the screens are built to reflect your own policy & procedures…

If the action selected is a detention and there is a clash, BehaviourWatch will tell you. Select Student Name, Incident Type and Action, and enter a brief description. Click Save and Close. That’s it! Recording of incidents, whether positive or negative, is quick and easy…all on one screen…

Information is immediately available to everyone… The early warning system will alert you if students are involved in “x” number of incidents in “y” period of time.

When the teacher clicks Save and Close on the Incident Slip, all relevant staff can be informed via automatic s from the system.

Track Conversation will create an audit trail of staff communication about an incident, all saved with the incident history.

When detentions are set they immediately appear on the Detention Register Use the buttons to mark whether present or absent; if detention needs to be reset use “Next Available Detention”.

Letters... If you wish to send a letter home, select “Write Letter”…

Letters... and the letter appears in the bottom part of the screenSelect a letter template (you can create your own)…. BehaviourWatch populates the letter, which can be printed on your headed notepaper. All letters are saved on the system.

” BehaviourWatch makes it quick and easy for you to analyse the incidents that are logged, identifying patterns of behaviour for individuals, classes, forms, year groups, the whole school, or groups that you have created yourself (e.g. Looked After Children). This information will help you plan intervention strategies and pre-empt incidents.

Click on any bar and you will see the incidents which make up that bar of the graph Click on an individual incident This graph shows Incidents Over Time, a monthly distribution, for a whole school – positives & negatives…

.... from graph to specifics in two clicks and the specific details appear Incidents over time

Look at the numbers over each bar… in March, 2010, 83 students were involved in 224 Red level incidents

The Incident Report shows incidents by their description. Note the rewards that have been given throughout the school for “Attitude to Learning” but looking at “Geography” there are no positives and an increase in negatives – an issue that needs to be addressed.

Although this is Calvin’s report other student names appear. However, when you export your report you can anonymise other names…….. ….other students have become Student X – the report can now be safely given to Calvin’s parents. The Head of Year is going to meet with Calvin’s parents and give them an account of all his incidents… The Chronology Report…enables you to create a report for an individual student in moments…

Select from Form, Staff, Ethnicity, Free School Meals, Class, Location, Period, Day of Week on the “x” axis, and from either Subject or Period on the “y” axis of your graph. Behaviour Radar...enables you to identify incident hotspots by creating your own graphs.

Form & Subject This graph identifies problems with forms 8M and 9C in Mathematics...the most serious incidents. The column N/A refers to non-teaching times.

Location & Subject You can follow your own train of thought...let’s look at where those incidents have taken place…Room A12

Location & Period...and now we can look at which periods of the day in A12. Click on any cell on any graph to see the detailed log of those incidents.

Reporting to parents... Compatible with : plus others

When you subscribe to BehaviourWatch you will receive: A completely bespoke behaviour management system An organic system that can be changed and adapted if required Anytime, anywhere access to the data Complete confidentiality of the data, backed up on secure servers Updates to the system whenever new features are added Training for all staff Technical support Visits with support and advice from a BehaviourWatch consultant

Follow assistant principal Jane Salt's regular blog about Cooper Technology College's new Behaviour for Learning programme Behaviour for Learning: 9 February 2010 “We selected BehaviourWatch to provide a bespoke BFL solution for Coopers - and we are now beginning to see more of the consistent approach to BFL we were hoping for! BehaviourWatch is a superb tool for analysing and communicating data around the school, over and above what we were able to achieve with our previous system. It is now much easier for staff to log both positive and negative incidents. We are pleased to report that since the start of the term we have been able to log over 1700 positive incidents, compared to just 400 negative!! This is a real plus as it also highlights those many students who demonstrate good behaviour on a regular basis…and you know how important I think that is in making BFL a successful venture!”
