Presentation transcript:

Welcome to Technology Class

Housekeeping Always bring your assignment notebook and something to write with to class. You will be asked to bring your headphones later in the semester. Restroom Breaks Are permitted but should not be a regular occurance

Behavior Expectations Give respect, get respect The computer is not yours so you may not make any changes to the computer, i.e. screensaver, wallpaper, icon placement, etc. Talk ONLY when given permission Turn in assignments on time, late assignments will be accepted through the following Monday after the due date, but will only receive 80% of earned grade. Give your best effort! You will use what you learn in this class forever!!

NEW This Year!!! Technology grade will be on your report card Grade counts for Honors qualification Check your grades online

Grading You will be graded as follows: *Projects = 40% *Keyboarding = 30% *Classwork = 25% *Quizzes = 5%

Project Based Learning In this class, I use project based learning. This means you learn by doing projects, not by me lecturing to you and you showing me what you know by taking a test. However, this means that YOU must manage your work and complete it by the due date or you will not do well. Often you will have 2 weeks to complete a project and you will not be able to wait till the day before to complete it.
