© Plan International 5 Water and Environmental Sanitation (WES) is a crucial pillar of Plan’s programs USD 22 million were spent in WES during 2004 worldwide. Priority issues: Community-managed WES programs Growing emphasis on hygiene education Growing emphasis on excreta disposal Global and regional WES policies and strategies are being developed, to complement existing public health’s. Permanent WES and public health staff at International Headquarters, Regional and Country Offices and Program Units (sub-national).
