What are the rules for writing singular and plural nouns? Count off by 3. Look at all the lists in your group Each group will come up with as many rules and examples as you can remember.

The RULES 1. add s to most nouns 2. add es to a noun that ends with x, ch, s, sh, or ss. 3. consonant + y change the y to I and add es 4. vowel + y just add s 5. f or fe changes to v add s or es 6. words ending in o BE CAREFUL either s or es 7. Some don’t end in s or es (children, men, women. 8. Same singular and plural form (deer, sheep, fish)
