2 What is a Plural? A SINGULAR noun is a SINGLE noun (one)
A PLURAL noun is MORE THAN ONE noun

3 Plural Rule #1 Most plurals just add -s to the singular noun:
cat / cats boy / boys paper / papers table / tables lamp / lamps

4 Plural Rule #2 Add -es to nouns ending in -ch, -sh, -s, -x, or -zz :
bench / benches fish / fishes class / classes box / boxes buzz / buzzes

5 Plural Rule #3 Change the -y to -i and add -es in
nouns ending consonant + y: story / stories puppy / puppies baby / babies ruby / rubies sky / skies

6 Plural Rule #4 Just add -s to nouns ending in vowel + y:
turkey / turkeys day / days toy / toys valley / valleys

7 Plural Rule #5 Some plurals have IRREGULAR spellings: goose / geese
foot / feet mouse / mice child / children woman / women ox / oxen tooth / teeth

8 Plural Rule #6 Some plurals keep the same spelling as
the singular form: goose / geese foot / feet mouse / mice child / children woman / women ox / oxen tooth / teeth
