Arrowhead Union High School District Annual Meeting 2015

Mission... is to provide a comprehensive public education that challenges individuals to reach their full potential. Students, school, parents, and community share the responsibility to provide an ‘Arrowhead Experience’ that will enable students to become responsible adults who can succeed in the future. With students as the focus of all that we do, we are committed to establishing and achieving high expectations with measurable goals that promote excellence.

To achieve that mission... We value people, learning and excellence. We enjoy a partnership with an engaged community that realizes the importance of learning within a high quality education. We offer this excellent public education in a fiscally responsible manner. 3

Fiscal Responsibility Over the last eight years, the district has reduced its budget by over $5 million. Employee benefit changes since have resulted in an annual cost savings of nearly $2 million. Arrowhead maintains a Moody’s rating better than approximately 90% of the school districts in Wisconsin. Fund balance, while healthy at 25+%, has been used for recent improvement expenses. Despite increasing operational costs, our per pupil expense remains just below the state average. 4

Just one example: The Design.Engineering.Manufacturing.Center renovation project is nearing completion at South Campus. Approximately $260,000 in funds and equipment have been pledged by individuals and local manufacturing and engineering firms. The goal is $500,000, which would fully equip the $2 million addition, including two engineering labs, a manufacturing lab, an innovation lab, and a design lab, for world-class instruction in the field.

The Arrowhead Experience The Year Ahead Continue focus on closing achievement gaps between students who are identified for special education services, and students who are identified as economically disadvantaged, with the general population in reading, math, and graduation rates. Focus on college and career readiness through enhanced literacy, meaningful technology application, Academic and Career Plans (ACP), and enhanced design, engineering and manufacturing programming. Continue focus on personalized, meaningful professional development for staff members. Focus on strengthened, purposeful communications with staff and community. Focus on financial stability for identified needs within Arrowhead.
