2010 Program Status Report 2010 Report Title: Bridging the Rural Digital Divide Mugoya Michael [Program Director]

Background Full Gospel Ministries is a community development program of Buikwe Full Gospel Church in Buikwe, Uganda. The program currently provides care and support to orphans and vulnerable children by establishing community based poverty reduction projects. The program began in October 2008 with over sixty community based projects. The program is currently operating 94 projects throughout Buikwe. 2010 Progress Achievements and progress since last status update 1.The program’s social networking website on Ning ( ) was facing closure, but later upgraded to Ning Plus. Thanks to Dr. Simon Harding of Chronos Group made the payments for this upgrade for the site to stay online 2.Completed market research in Kampala for Chronos Workflow Platform (CWP) by teaming up with Real Life Systems at Real Life Church and Perfect Multiple Engineering and Consultancy Services Ltd in Kampala 3.Received online demos for CWP made by Attila Nemeti 4.9 projects in the program have been registered with Buikwe District Local Government as community based organizations and more 10 projects are in the process of registering 5.Two registered community based organizations (Kisa kya Mukama Hotel Project and Tukolerere Wamu Development Group) have been officially launched by the Uganda Government member of parliament Honorable David Mutebi 6.Received Grant from Hon. Mutebi to facilitate registration of projects 7.Linked with Caezaria Complex Public Library at Ajiija-Buikwe a resource center that has helped the program to have internet access in Buikwe 8.Seven (7) business plans have been developed for 7 member organizations of the program 9.Have reserved the name and secured articles of association in the process of registering a limited liability company for the program Full Gospel Ministries Program Status Report- October 2010

Delays and problems The program faced a “digital demise” in March through July 2010 with the closure of the children’s site on Ning and the crash of ICT services at BFGC Chronos Workflow Platform (CWP) has been delayed to launch in Uganda No new international development partners and child sponsors yet Full Gospel Ministries Program Status Report- October 2010

Corrective actions being taken Program’s registered projects are linking up with Caezaria Complex Public Library (CCPL) at Ajiija-Buikwe for ICT / internet services Processing a Request to Chronos Systems to develop a user friendly Chronos Workflow Platform (CWP) for rural community based organizations BFGC will be recruiting more 60 community based organizations to the program next year to form a network of 150 community based organizations throughout Buikwe Full Gospel Ministries Program Status Report- October 2010

Recommendations All projects should link up with CCPL to help intensify capacity building and marketing strategies The program’s international partners are requested to continue winning friends, partners, sponsors, and investors for the projects Volunteers from all over the world are urgently needed to help build program’s capacity for implementation of all the projects at Buikwe Full Gospel Ministries Program Status Report- October 2010
