Hand-Coloring in Photoshop! Go to Layer > Duplicate Layer to make a copy of your image Go to image > Adjustments > Black and White on your “background copy” layer Work on the “background copy” layer which should be black and white Use the paint brush tool, set at a low opacity Create a new layer for each color you use Layer > Flatten Image (only do this when you are finished (and happy) with your colors! TIP: Refer to the color version of the photo as a reference- but know that your goal is not to copy your colors precisely- work to add a unique look to the color with your knowledge of color theory
