1. Go To your flash drive. Make a folder named: Lastname.period.Photoshop

2. Fun With Layers! Fusing Black and White with color!

3. Go To Window. Check ONLY: Layers, History, Tools, Options.

4. Right now you have one layer. Your first layer is called “Background.”

5. Click and drag the background to the layers icon.

6. You have just created a background copy. There are now two layers to the photograph.

7. Highlight the background copy. Click on the layer adjustment Icon at the bottom of the screen and highlight “Gradient map”.

8. Choose the black to white gradient

9. Layer  Merge Down.

11. Eraser Tool. Use the eraser tool to make the Black and White layer disappear.

12. Master Diameter = Size of Brush

13. Hardness = How much the brush blurs 0= blurry

14. Opacity should be set between 80% and 100%.

15. It is best to use the zoom tool so that you can be more accurate.

16. As you erase, you will see each action appear in your history box. If you need to back up or undo something, click on the last action that was affective.

17. Zoom out to check your progress. ‘Save As’ into your Photoshop Folder.

18. PSD= Photoshop file Save as a PSD if you are not done.

19. JPEG= Image file Save as a JPEG if when you are done.

21. Other Considerations: Clicking on the eyeball next to the layer makes the layer disappear.

22. Other Considerations: The hand tool allows you to move the picture around as you work. Double click on the tool to go back to full screen.
