Presentation transcript:

Planning meeting:  Turn in your team recruiting sheet  Do I have your initialed syllabus?  Volleyball & Soccer tonight  Anything from our editors?  A review of yesterday’s photography lesson by Gracie Welcome back! Remember to pull your card…

How do you get great pictures?  Take a TON of pictures!  Use the “kill your darlings” editing advice—if it’s not right, get rid of it.  Does the picture make you ask a question?  Let’s look at Mr. Thompson’s poster—what does it cause us to wonder about?  Pictures drive readers to the captions with questions they want answers to  In sports… ACTION, FACE(S), BALL  In everything… ACTION, FACE(S)

 I took these during the last few weeks…  Most of them are BAD… Why?  If there actually is a good one… what makes it good? Let’s look at some pictures…

 Find what you think is a great photograph online or in a magazine. (Sports photographs are best but not required.)  Write a short paragraph (3-4 sentences) about what you think makes it a great photograph.  Bring this tomorrow or it to me tonight at Homework: Find a great PHOTO
