Say Yes or No. Flashing Motions Fast polling is implemented with the Yes and No motion button on top of the attendees list. The smiles, hand-rising and applause icons are now flashing to attract your attention. Instead of creating a poll for simple question which answer is just Yes or No you can ask your students to click on the positive (Yes) or negative (No) buttons located above the attendees. The answer appears next to each name.
Restoring a Broken Connection Sometimes the audio of slow connection users or users with inconsistent internet connectivity may drop off. Now there is no need to close the application and enter the session again. eLecta will automatically detect that your audio is lost. It will show a “Connect Audio” button on the Audio Control Panel. This very option is accessible at any time from the Audio menu on top. In case you totally get disconnected simply click the “Reset Connection” button which appears on the bottom-right corner of the main window.
More Text-chat Options More options are now added to the text messaging window. Right-click on the white area to call the pop-up menu. Opens the text chat in a larger window. The Audio Setup Wizard This new eLecta Live release has a built in audio setup wizard. The wizard will help you to adjust the speakers and microphone volume as well as configure eLecta for better audio performance depending on the type of session you are attending. You can get to the Audio Wizard from the main menu. Choose Audio and then click on the Audio Setup Wizard. Or Even faster you can do that at any time by simply clicking the Audio Wizard button which is found on the main toolbar. As soon as you start the Wizard you session audio will turn off and your name in the list will appear “Away”. Closing the Wizard will put you back Online.
Adjusting the Volume The Audio setup wizard helps you to select your input and output audio devices as well as adjust their volume to a comfortable level. The playback test will play a prerecorded audio message. While the message is playing you can adjust the volume. The Microphone test is to adjust the volume of your microphone. Not all microphones allow volume adjustment. You can also choose an audio device if you have more than one sound card on your computer.
Audio Optimization Depending on the session type and your role in the live event you can tell eLecta how to optimize the audio streams. The Audio Optimizer offers you to choose from four different roles you can have in a live session. With choosing a proper session type you can significantly improve your audio experience and performance. This depends not only on your internet connection but also on the other attendees involved in the session. For example if the person who is talking is on a slow connection you can hear his voice breaking although you are running on a fast internet connection. If you and your attendees are all running on a fast connection then you may consider selecting the fourth (last) option.
Changing the Audio Codec This new eLecta Live release supports several different audio compressors. For general type sessions you may not need to change the default audio compressor eLecta Live uses. In some cases however you may need to switch to another audio compressor to increase or decrease the audio quality. The different compressors produce different audio quality and clarity as well as different audio bit rate. From the File menu choose Settings then click on the Voice Settings link. From the Audio Compression drop-down list select the compressor to use. You can also adjust the maximum number of simultaneous talkers. Please read the notes carefully. The new settings will be applied and the audio connection will be automatically reestablished.
