The Brain Bhaumi, Devin, Emily, Gabby

The brain is a very interesting organ. Today we are going to learn about the brain and beyond!

The frontal lobe controls reasoning, planning, movement, and some parts of speech. The frontal lobe lies under the forehead.

The Parietal Lobe is at the top of the head. The Parietal Lobe receives data from the skin.

The occipital lobe controls vision. It lies at the back of your head. If the occipital lobe got damaged you can get blind.

Phineas Gage was a railroad worker in the 1800’s. A pole blasted through his frontal lobe, and we learned that the frontal lobe controls emotions.

The Temporal lobe controls long-term memory. The temporal lobe lies at the side of your head.

The brain stem is one of the three major parts of the brain. It controls digestion, breathing, blood pressure and more.

The cerebellum controls coordination and balance. It is located in the back of the skull.

The cerebrum is the most important part of the brain and has all four lobes in it.

There are many functions in the brain. Some are movement, speech, and touch.

The corpus collosum is a bundle of fibers that holds the left and right hemispheres together. It allows the two hemispheres to communicate.

The left hemisphere controls the right side of your body.

The right hemisphere controls the left side of your body. It is also the artistic part of the brain.

The cerebral hemisphere is two sides.

Panophobia is the fear of everything.

We hope you learned new facts about the brain. Are you going to be a neuroscientist?
