REGION DIRECTORS RESPONSIBILITIES & PROCEDURES

REGIONS There are 7 regions in Florida Each Region Director represents one (1) of those regions and is elected to a two (2) year term Region Directors-Elect serve for one (1) year before taking the position of Region Director

REGION DIRECTORS-ELECT RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Region Director in promoting membership and planning the Region Seminar Attend FSNA’s Leadership Training in June Attend Board meetings, FSNA Annual Conference, and House of Delegates (as a non- voting member)

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES Promote the Association’s Initiatives Know and express the views of the local chapters in your Region when evaluating or voting on issues at meetings Communicate, assist, and share ideas with the local chapters in your Region Promote membership in the Association

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES Attend at least one (1) meeting of each local chapter during your two (2) year term Survey the local chapters and provide recommendations to the Board on appointments to committees and/or for running for state office Serve as the liaison between the Board and the Local Chapters

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITES Utilize FSNA’s President-Elect as a resource throughout the year Communicate with Local Chapters on a regular basis. Local Officer Installation Ceremonies (the state office has several copies of ceremonies that you can use)

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITES Encourage Local Chapters to submit Chapter Chatter articles for each publication of School Food in Florida Stress the importance of each Local Chapter having representation at the House of Delegates Contact and work with any County that does not have an active local chapter; or whose local chapter is struggling

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES Promote local, state and national membership Serve as a member of the FSNA Nominating Committee Work side-by-side with your Region Director- Elect to train them for office Encourage members in your Region to further their education with scholarships

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITES Plan your Region Seminar - working with the Chapter Presidents Region Director Handbook provides timetable Provide budget to Chair of Region Directors and state office including Foundation ($3) and Region Director’s expenses ($2) per person Work with state office for program approval and Professional Standards CEU Preside over your Region Seminar

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITES Assist local chapters with Bylaws Understand FSNA Bylaws Obtain copies of Chapter Bylaws Attend two (2) FSNA Annual Conferences

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITES Attend House of Delegates at FSNA Annual conference Participate as a voting member Submit report to state office and Chair of the Region Directors in a timely manner

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITES Attend all Executive Board Meetings Participate as a voting member Submit report to state office and Chair of the Region Directors in a timely manner Report initiatives/goals/status August report – Region Seminar planning Winter report – Region Seminar results Spring report – Activities since last report

REGION DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES Submit receipts for all expenses incurred following approved procedures Assist with Legislative issues at both National and State level Utilize the Region Director’s Handbook
