ACQUATICS FACILITY STUDY City of Vincennes Department of Parks & Recreation

Overall image is poor, facility is tired and no longer an attraction. The facility lacks vitality. Visitors are being lost to other venues. The condition of the bathhouse is substandard. Without shade, the oversized concrete pool deck is oppressive in the summer heat. Pool mechanical system is antiquated and is past its life expectancy. The concrete deck all around the pools has an irregular surface at expansion joints and settlement cracks. Water from both the competition and wading pools is circulated through a single circulation pump violating current swimming pool codes. Maintaining chemical balance for this pool is difficult. It is reported that the pool loses approximately 1”-2” of water overnight due to leaks in the pool system located under the concrete pool shell.
