Personal Safety In The Production Lab

In the lab there is a lot of safety equipment that you can use for to keep you in one piece. 1.Glasses 2.Ear muffs 3.Face shields 4.Gloves 5.Always take your time.

Using Hand Tools

Measuring Tools Measuring plays a very important role when it comes to wood working. For example here are some pictures of some measuring tools.

Wrenches & Screwdrivers Wrenches and Screwdrivers are the most hand held tools to use. They play a major factor in joining materials tightly together. Here are some pictures of wrenches and screwdrivers.

Woodworking Tools Well woodworking tools of course deals with wood. Like cutting it, drilling threw it , making it smoother,or carving things into it. The tools are: chisel, saw, drill, router.

Metal Working Tools Metal working tools are kind of like wood working only they deal with metal. Some of these tools are:welders & grinders.

Using Portable Power Tools

Hot Glue Guns The glue gun is a very portable tool that is very useful when you need to attach two things together. The glue dries almost right when it comes out and its very hot so be “CAREFUL”.

Pneumatic Tools Pneumatic Tools are tools that use compressed air to get the job done. Like: Nail Guns, Air Wrench Guns are The main tools that are used.

Electric Drills Electric drills are one of the most commonly used tools in any kind of building site today. They can be battery powered or powered by a cord. There mostly used for drilling holes in wood, metal,or any thing you need to put a hole in.

Cordless Electric Tools Cordless tools are easier to use because you don’t have to worry about the cord getting in your way.Couple of these tools are the cut saw & drill.

Dremel Tools A dremel tool is usually a hand held tool it could be very portable and compact. Some of these tool bits are drill, grinder, rotor to choose from to help you with the job.

Jig Saws The jig saw is a very quick and easy tool to use and it is slower then an electric saw but it does the job and very well.

Circular Saw The circular most handiest tool for any woodworking job. It’s very powerful and can cut any type of wood. Most of them are small in size and have a protective cover so you don’t hurt yourself. Some circular saws even have a laser mounted on them for a nice straight cut.

Routers A router is a very useful tool when it comes to woodworking. A router has many different uses for example: making the edges on a surface rounded, making a pocket in the wood.

Electric Sanders Electric Sanders are a very useful to to have around when making wood look finer. Also sanders also make the wood very smooth. Electric sanders are one the most common tools to use when it comes to woodworking.

Grinders and Shears These two tools are for metalworking. Shears are a scissor type tool that cuts metal fast and easy. Grinders are a useful tool to cut metal fast and easy like the shears but the grinder is electric powered and a bit easier to use.

Tool Sharpening These tools are meant to sharpen other tools. These tools are the grinder, the grinder wheel, and a file.

Using Machinery

Drill Press The drill press is a very handy machine to have. Its pretty much just made for drilling. Some of the parts are called the, head,Spindle, table, base, column.

Band Saw The band saw is a saw with a blade that Runs on wheels like a band or a belt. The band saw has a built in table to make It easier to cut straight .

Jointer Planer The jointer planer is a machine used To make the sides of a board smooth. All you do is push the board through and it makes the side smooth.

Thickness Planer The thickness planer is a machine that you would put through to make it thinner for what you are doing.

Wood Lathe The wood lathe is a machine that you put a piece of wood in it and make whatever you want by shaping it.

Table Saw The table saw is a saw that runs up through a table like structure for better precision and easier cutting.

Belt And Disk Sander The belt sander is just a normal sander that operates and works on a belt like system. The disk sander is a rotating disk with sandpaper on it.

Grinder The grinder is a tool that cuts metal they can be used to sand off rust and sharp edges and some grinders are hand held.

Scroll Saw The scroll saw is a saw that is mostly used to make curvy, jagged cuts .

Cut Off Saw The Cut Off Saw is a very helpful tool when it comes to chop big lengths of wood down to smaller length so its easier to work with.
