UNIVERSE OF PROJECTS +Under development, seeking input +Universe of projects must be evaluated and a decision made on projects to include within the financial constraint of the RTP

ADDRESSING CANAL CROSSING OPTIONS: APPROACHES FOR THE RPT 1. “Yes to a Canal Crossing Project.” Include a “Canal Crossing Project” with a cost estimate that may or may not be within the regions financial constraint. 2. “No to a Canal Crossing Project.” After explicit consideration, choose not to include any canal crossing options in the RTP. 3. “Include the a Canal Crossing Project, pending results of study.” Include a “Canal Crossing Project” with language indicating that it is anticipated that the project would be funded from sources other than the regional target funds (ie. a statewide fund or public-private approach). With additional language that the recommendation is conditional basis pending the resolution of concerns expressed in the project review process. 4. “No action, wait and see.” Wait to address with an amendment as needed after the study is complete. Potentially make reference to the study but note that given the early nature of the work. It will be readdressed by the MPO once a preferred alternative is identified.
