Population of 83,826 (2000 census). Economic Development District is: All of Coos County, all of Grafton County and part of Carol County. 67 communities and 25 unincorporated place

Regional Planning Commission Tasks and Responsibilities Transportation: Facilitate input and views of local officials into statewide planning process Technical assistance to local governments Develop regional priorities for Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) Develop regional long-range plans Coordinate transportation plans with local land use and economic development plans Studies of corridors, traffic counts, pedestrian and bike assets, safety, byways and freight

This involves developing new systems-level planning and analysis capabilities including; corridor planning asset management multimodal planning Performance measurement Planning and investments are primarily done now on a mode-by-mode basis.
