OBJECTIVE OF THIS ROUNDTABLE: To introduce the skills and tools needed to record lessons, screen capture, and upload videos to YouTube to be used in instruction in the classroom.

VIDEO CAPTURE PROGRAMS CamStudio – Freeware Download  Doceri – for use with iPad or tablet  Free app for tablet  $30 to install on Computer Look here for other options  software_for_windows software_for_windows

TOOLS NEEDED FOR SCREEN CAPTURE Screen capture software Microphone Video editing program for more advanced editing

UPLOADING TO YOUTUBE You must create a Google Account * If you already have a google account, you can skip this step and go on to creating your YouTube Channel  Go to  Click “Sign In”  Click “Add Account”  Click ‘Create an Account”

 Complete the steps to set up your account  When you get to the “Welcome” page, click the “Back to YouTube” button

YOU NEED YOUR OWN YOUTUBE CHANNEL Go to Click on My Channel  You will be prompted to create your channel Complete the steps to create your channel Use the gmail account you set up earlier

YOU ARE NOW READY TO UPLOAD VIDEOS Your videos must be saved in one of the supported file types  MOV  MPEG4  MP4  AVI  WMV  MPEGPS  FLV  3GPP  WebM

VIDEO CONVERSION FREEWARE  Video converter  Video Downloader  CAREFULLY READ THE INSTALLATION OPTIONS. YOU WILL LIKELY NOT WANT THE ADDITIONAL SUGGESTED SOFTWARE THAT IS PRESENTED IN THE INSTALLATION WIZARD.

UPLOADING VIDEOS Click the “Upload” button Browse to find your file Upload You can place several videos into the queue at one time Videos take a long time to upload, give them 2 hours for a small video. Large videos may take 8-10 hours.

SHARE YOUR LINK ON EDMODO, THROUGH , ETC. Once your video is uploaded, you can share the link. You can also create a QR Code for your video  Free QR Code Generator  Copy and paste the URL into the appropriate box
