Introduction  Helping students plan for college by using technology.  Websites for planning for college  These websites are great tools for helping students, parents and school counselors to prepare students for their future.  Help a student find the appropriate college for them.  Search criteria such as location, major and school atmosphere.  Find career planning help  Financial aid and scholarship Info  Requirements through the NCAA for student athletes.

College Boards College Boards is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect students to college for success. The College Boards are the makers of the PSAT and SAT tests taken by high school students. College Boards mission statement can be found at their website at bout/index.html bout/index.html

On College Boards Website You Can: Prepare for the SAT test by taking test questions. Register for the SAT test. Search colleges and answer questions to find a college that matches expectations Look at colleges that students grades and SAT scores are accepted. Parents can research colleges and college planning as well as financial aid information. See tips for writing college essays and calendars to help students plan when to apply View articles that help students plan for college

Anycollege is designed to help students search colleges to find the college for them Designed to allow the user to quickly gain access to information and connect with the colleges that fit their interests and search criteria

Apply for scholarships for college Search the colleges for college requirements. Create a list of schools that you are interested in and view majors that the college offers Request information from the schools on your list. This site can be useful when deciding on a school that has your major. Request information from a number of schools instead of visiting each school’s individual websites.

College Surfing Collegesurfing.com allows students to search colleges through a variety of ways.Collegesurfing.com One can search by location, major, or by school name. The website helps students to gain knowledge on different schools.

College Surfing Read articles about career choices and where people are needed for jobs today. The website has many links to articles to help the student find a career for them. On this website one can also search: careers and the education, skills or knowledge needed for that career, salary information and the top Universities for that career.

College View website allows students to search colleges through location, major and other criteria. The website also allows students to view financial aid information as well as campus life and college applications for schools.

This Website has a section for school counselors and their role in the college application process to help guide students to finding the correct school for them. Web based computer applications that school districts can purchase to help guide their students through college planning. –Track students that graduate from their school throughout college. –Resume building help, interest inventories for them to fill out to help guide them into the appropriate field.

NCAA National Collegiate Athletic Association Gives students, parents, coaches and school staff information on the eligibility requirements for student athletics when attending NCAA ranked schools. It is important for school counselors to be aware of the requirements that these students need to meet in coursework to be eligible for participating in their sports programs into college.

NCAA National Collegiate Athletic Association Enter their high school in and receive a print out of the courses that would be accepted and courses that are required for student athletes. Regulations and rules for college sports that students must follow in order to continue to participate in their sport. The website has many articles on the NCAA sports teams in all three divisions.

Conclusion The sites listed in this presentation are great tools for school counselors to search to find information on colleges and college planning. School counselors can use these sites as well as direct students and parents to utilize these websites to help them plan for the future. The NCAA website is a great tool for planning college for student athletes. All mentioned websites were useful in searching for careers and education planning.
