‘’The Era Of Good Feelings’’

His birth place was in Westmoreland, Virginia His birthdate was 4/28/1757 Monroe died in New York, 7/4/1831 James was a United States Senator, Minister to France and to England at one point, was the Governor of Virginia, and was a part of the Continental Congress as well.

James was the last president to serve in any significant capacity on the American War Of Independence.

Monroe’s former careers were: Being a soldier Being a politician Being a democratic statesman

First Seminole war [ ] Convention of 1818 [1818] Florida got purchased from Spain [1819] Missouri compromise [1820] Cumberland road bill [1822] Monroe doctrine [1823]

James Monroe’s time as a president was called this because this was after war 1812 and their political struggle. In 1816’s election, Monroe defeated the last of the federal candidates. James got overwhelmingly reelected in the election of 1820.

This was a policy created by James Monroe. It basically said that the Europeans could not come to America and colonize. This greatly influenced the world and how it is today. President Monroe stated, "the American continents, by the free and independent condition which they have assumed and maintain, are henceforth not to be considered as subjects for future colonization by any European powers.“
