IMPORTANT NEWS Brick Fence on Red Bluff Repairs are finally finished! Flag Pole We hope our residents love our new community flag pole on Center St. VGE is working to get another flag pole for the Red Bluff entrance. Stop Signs & Speeding Please STOP at all stop signs and do not speed through our neighborhood streets. Children are out for the summer we would hate to see any fatal accidents or injuries occur. Don’t forget to water your plants and yard and leave your pets plenty of water to drink!

VGE Homeowner Parking on Streets. Please keep in mind that parking on the street is never allowed. Pasadena Police Department will be enforcing this deed restriction for VGE from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Please park your vehicles in your driveway to avoid a citation. Home Improvements – ACC Applications. Please remember prior to making any changes to the exterior of your home or yard, you must complete an Architectural Control Committee Application and send it to HCMS for approval. Violators will receive a Deed Restriction violation and you can be sent to the attorney if not completed. Application is available on the website at Sidewalks. Homeowner’s we know our sidewalks need improvement. If you have defaults on your sidewalk in front of your house, please call the City of Pasadena at and report the default so they can come out and get it fixed. Mowing/Blowing Residents when mowing and blowing your grass, please do not blow grass down the City drains. It is illegal and a City Ordinance. If caught you will receive a heavy fine and face possible prosecution. Please report violators to the Pasadena Police Department at Basketball Court News Parents Our community has invested in a basketball court for our children to play. It has been brought to our attention that our children are littering by the basketball/pool area. Please remind your children to pick up their trash and dispose it in the park trash can. We also received reports of playground fighting. This will not be tolerated! If we can not get along and respect our property, the basketball goal will be taken down. We DO Not want it to get to this so please talk to your children and remind them to take care of their play area. We love to see them have fun and enjoy the equipment! Have a great Summer!

More News Pasadena Police Department The police department is offering a Crime Watch Course, a Citizen’s Police Academy and a FREE Home Inspection. Please call the Pasadena Police Department at for more information. Pool Area Gas Grill A gas grill was donated to VGE. We have decided to keep it at the pool and it can be used by any of our residents. There will be a $25 CASH ONLY deposit to be given to the Pool Life Guard at the time of check out. The deposit will be given back after each use permitting the inspection for cleanness and damage is checked off by the Life Guard. Please keep it clean and be safe. A Rules and Guidelines form will be posted to our website and will be available at the Pool for disclosure and your signature will be needed at time of check out. Riding without Helmets Dear Abby: Please remind parents and teenagers that it is "cool" to wear a helmet when riding bikes and skateboards. A child in our town died recently after suffering a head injury, and we have just received word that the son of a close friend (age 23) has started having seizures because of a head injury he suffered as a teen after falling from a skateboard. I had my grandson decorate his helmet. All his friends thought it looked great, and that made it "cool" to wear it. With summer here and kids outside, wearing a helmet cannot be stressed enough. VIGILANT GRANDMA OUT WEST Dear Grandma: You are not only a vigilant grandma but also a clever one. Falls are common among bike riders, skateboarders, Rollerbladers, and those who drive and ride all-terrain vehicles. According to the Traumatic Brain Injury Recovery Network, an estimated 7 million Americans seek medical care every year for injuries sustained during sports or recreation-related activities, an estimated 4.3 million of whom are treated in emergency rooms. The highest rates of sports- and recreation-related injuries are among adolescents 10 to 14 years of age. When a child's head hits cement, wood or hard- packed dirt, the result can be a traumatic injury that leads to concussion, permanent brain injury or even death. That is why children who participate in sports should be strongly encouraged to wear protective headgear at all times.

Thanks VGE Pool Committee So many thanks to the volunteer members that make up our “Pool Committee”. They put in so many hours processing 149 pool tag applications and issuing almost 600 pool tags this year. The Pool Committee this year consists of your neighbors Allen and Phyllis Myers, Charlene Bingham Jackson, Debbie Tremont and Thomas Easo. The volunteers saved our association well over $2,000 by taking on the task of issuing the tags. They are also responsible for the Splash Day events that took place on May 22, with Hot Dogs, Chips and Soda for everyone. Allen and Thomas were the master Bar-B-Q Chef’s cooking 6 cases of hot dogs. Thanks again for all your hard work and donated time. If anyone is interested in joining this fun group please contact any member or Debbie Tremont at Recipe of the Month TO DIE FOR CROCKPOT ROAST 1 pkg. dried ranch dressing mix 1 c. water 1 beef roast, any kind 1 pkg. dried brown gravy mix 1 pkg.
