The Galapagos Islands are a unique place in the world. There are many animals that live there that can be found nowhere else in the world. As you view the pictures and descriptions, see if you can match them to the questions on your Galapagos Animal Sort worksheet.

Galapagos Sea Lion I am a type of seal with external ears. The islands are a warm place for me to live and raise my pups.

Mola-mola I am a most unusual fish. I am very large, flat, have a small tail, and two huge fins. I enjoy the warm waters of the Galapagos.

Marine Iguana I live on land, but feed in the sea. My appearance made me popular as a monster in old movies about prehistoric monsters.

Sally Light-foot Crab My name tells you I move quickly across the black, volcanic rock I live on by the sea. And as you can see, I am brightly colored.

Spotted Ray I have an unusual shape, and my spots help me to blend in with the bottom of the ocean.

Pilot Whale I am a mammal who looks like a fish, but I breathe through a hole on the top of my head.

Albatross While I am very graceful in the air, I am rather clumsy on land. I spend most of the year at sea feeding.
