Role of attractions

Attractions Tourist attractions are a dynamic component of travel and tourism industry. They attract visitors to a destination by providing opportunities for relaxation, amusement, entertainment and education. Visitor attractions are of 2 types: Natural attractions (mountains, forests, landmarks, nature) Built attractions (theme parks, museums sports, cinemas, malls, parks)

Role of tourist information and guiding services

Tour guides Tour guides usually refer to the activity of accompanying a group of visitors around a particular site, town or part of a region, giving information on the history, pointing out the interests, and responsible for conducting the group efficiently. TICs(Tourist Information Centre) carry a wide range of promotional leaflets, brochures, guide books pertaining to the local area. It is the outlet for booking the tourist guides

Role of ancillary tourist services

Ancillary Services The chain of distribution provides opportunities to offer additional travel products and services to their customers (money exchange, travel insurance) Travel Insurance is offered by both tour operators and travel agents. TICs provide ancillary services like accommodation booking, sell tickets for theatres etc.

Role of Tourism Board

Tourist Board The role of NTO(National Tourism organization) is very significant and their mission is to increase the value of inbound tourism to a particular country. NTO will exert control and influence the local / regional tourist board in delivering services to the visitors.
