About Cisco Cisco is regarded as the world leading seller of networking equipment. The company designs, manufactures, and distributes their own products. While most of the general public uses Cisco services, very few are aware of it. The core of Cisco lies in their enterprise roots.

Cisco History The company was founded by a couple, Leonard Bosack and Sand Lerner, who both worked as a computer operations staff at Stanford. The company borrowed it’s name from the city of San Francisco.

Cisco Strategy Their strategy was to develop and manufacture dedicated network nodes. What made Cisco unique from their competitors was their proprietary operating system, which allowed frequent updates to their software. This allowed Cisco implemented systems to stay up-to- date with competitors even 10 years after implementation.

Cisco Consumer Products Cisco has recently ramped up their consumer product line these include: -Linksys series routers -Cisco E-series routers -Cisco Valet routers -Cisco wireless adapters
