Our Future Jobs

What is the theme of our project? The theme of our group project is “Our future professions”. The project is about what professions we want to choose.

What is idea of our project? The idea of our group project is the following: as we are all the pupils of the 8 form we start thinking about our future profession. So, we have decided to focus on our future occupations and find out if this choice is right.

What is aim of our project? The aim of our project is to choose a future profession and to find out if it is attractive or unattractive, if these jobs suit us.

A job, a profession, an occupation and a career.  A job is the work that a person does regularly in order to earn money.  A profession is a job that requires special training, often a university education and brings a rather high social status.  An occupation is a job or profession.  A career is the series of jobs that a person does in his or her life.

While working out the project we followed this plan:  1) We learnt the new words and useful expressions on the topic “Future Professions”; 2) We collected all necessary information about our future professions; 3) We described our future professions and tried to find out if they are suitable for us; 4) We held an opinion poll among all students of the 8 forms in Pushkin Gymnasia to know more about teenagers’ professional preferences; 5) We made up a computer presentation; 6) We presented the product to the teacher and the whole group; 7) The project was assessed by the teacher and by ourselves.

Ekaterina Aganina  I want to be a police officer. This job requires some qualities among which are meeting people, physical strength and special training. I want to become a police officer because my dad works for the police. I want to follow in his footsteps. I think my future job is interesting, fulfilling and prestigious.

Marina Baburina  l want to be a police officer. I think this is one of the most necessary professions, because the people in uniform guard and protect our peace. Their work is also in demand as the jobs of a doctor or a teacher. All help people: doctors treat, teachers teach and educate, and the policemen rescue.

Victoria Bardanova  I think that in future I will become an interpreter. The job of an interpreter requires such qualities as a good command of foreign languages, communication skills, good imagination, a lot of experience and responsibility and special training.

Ivan Bannikov  I want to be an engineer. This job requires some qualities. Among them are special training, accuracy, good imagination and special knowledge of mathematics, physics and drawing. This job a regular and popular.

Sergey Maximov  I want to be an aviator. It’s a very difficult and important profession. My future job is interesting, popular, exciting and prestigious. My choice of a job is influenced by my interest, my personal qualities and pressure from my parents. I will work in Russia and will try to get a job in an air company. This profession requires some qualities, such as meeting people and enjoying flying. And I think that this profession is suitable for me.

Edward Polyashov  I want to be a businessman in future. This job requires some qualities. Among them are meeting people, courage and good imagination. I think my future job will be interesting, popular and prestigious.

The job of a journalist requires such qualities as a good imagination, meeting people, cultural background and the desire to read and know a lot. But sometimes I am not accurate when I use Russian and English, that’s way I have to practise a lot and I must develop this quality.

Sergey Pushkaryov  My task is to be an engineer that’s why I must study a lot. My job requires a lot of experience, special training and special knowledge of mathematics, physics and drawing.
