Do You Remember Taking the EAP Test? The 15 multiple choice questions on the STAR Test taken your Junior Year

EAP results can help you avoid the CSU placement test requirement and potential remediation classes at all 23 Campuses Why EAP?

The STAR Report is mailed to students’ home the summer before 12 th grade, typically during the month of August. Your EAP results are printed on the back for both English & Math. How Do I Find Out My EAP Scores? Make sure to save a copy of your STAR report!

Don’t Forget You Can Check Online! If you released your scores you can also access them online at: You’ll create an account through CSU Mentor, which is also how you apply to all 23 CSU Campuses.

□ Ready for CSU College-Level English and/or Math Courses - You’ve earned an exemption from the CSU Placement Test Requirement! Enroll in college level classes. □ Not Yet Demonstrating Readiness for CSU College-Level English and/or Math Courses - You are required to take the CSU Placement Test. It is strongly recommended you take a senior year math class. What Do the Test Results Mean?

□ Ready for CSU College-Level Math Courses— Conditional - You’ve have not yet fully earned an exemption from the CSU Placement Test Requirement Conditional does not mean exempt! You must complete a senior year experience. What Do the Test Results Mean?

Senior Year Experience Frequently Asked Question 1 What senior-year experience may be completed to validate an EAP math conditional status? A student may validate their conditional exemption if, during their high school senior year, they do one of the following: 1.Complete a one year math class that has a prerequisite of Algebra II or higher during your 12 th grade with a “C” or better

Senior Year Experience Frequently Asked Question 1 2. With the approval of the high school, repeat one year of algebra II and earn a grade of “C” or better 3.Complete a semester of a Community College Math course during your 12 th grade with a “C” or better 4.Completion of the online instructional program (e-Learning Course) monitored by CSU math faculty prior to high school graduation

Senior Year Experience Frequently Asked Question 2  If I’m completing a senior year experience do I need to inform the CSU of the course I am taking?  No, final official transcripts will be reviewed by the admissions office to validate successful completion of an approved course.  However, bringing a copy of your final transcript to the New Student Orientation (NSO) is strongly encouraged.

Senior Year Experience Frequently Asked Question 3 What if I receive a ‘conditionally exempt’ designation but I do not do any additional coursework my high school senior year?  If you are not exempt on the basis of SAT, ACT or AP scores, you will be required to sign up for the placement tests

How Do My EAP Results Get to the CSU? If you released your scores:  The CSU you plan to attend will have direct access and you do not have to worry about sending in your scores. If you didn’t release your scores:  You must send in a photo copy of your scores to the CSU campus you plan to attend Attn: Admissions and Records.

Didn’t Do Well on EAP? Other ways to avoid the ELM and EPT:  A score of 550 or above on the SAT’s  A score of 24 or above on the ACT for English and a 23 for Math  A score of 3, 4, or 5 on the AP exams  The completion and transfer of college courses that satisfies the requirement in Quantitative Reasoning, with a grade of C or better  Passing the ELM and EPT
