The SWDP Delivers housing and employment land between 2006 and 2030 Total for South Worcestershire – 19,955 houses and 309 ha of employment (includes Malvern Hills and Worcester City Councils) Wychavon District: 7,449 houses 146 ha of employment Droitwich Spa: 410 houses on brownfield sites within the town Urban extension at land off A38/Copcut Lane for 750 houses and 3.5 ha of employment

Land North of Pulley Lane and Newland Lane – Yew Tree Hill Outline planning application now valid Planning reference W/11/01073/OU Matters relating to appearance, landscaping, layout and scale reserved for future consideration Proposal: – Development of land up to 800 C3 housing units, C2 care (200 bed facility), A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 and B1(a) uses, police post, means of access, public open space, landscaping and infrastructure

Key Components Up to 800 dwellings (320 affordable housing) 200 bed mixed care facility (nursing, care/ retirement home, assisted living) Local centre – 1,000sqm of mixed uses such as shops, takeaway, bank, offices, police post etc Primary access via Pulley Lane with new traffic light controlled junction at the A38 and widening of existing carriageway by narrowing existing verges Bus, pedestrian and cycle access along Newland Road linking Primsland Way Retained and enhanced existing PRoW links Onsite public open space and recreational facilities

Application Update Timetable: – Consultation period ends 14 July – Several key consultation responses still awaited e.g. EA, NE,. WWT – Application will be considered by Council’s Planning Committee – No date has yet been set for this Committee meeting To date key responses: – 17th June – 3 month holding objection from the Highways Agency – Ongoing discussions with County highway Authority – County Archaeologist, County Footpath Officer, Sport England, STW, – No objections – Over 300 third party representations received to date
