WHAT IS IT? A chance to use your up-to-the-minute skills in an external setting An opportunity to work with School teachers and students and impart your knowledge Commitment is approx 2 hours per week for 10 weeks It can be completed as a Credit-Based Elective or as Voluntary Community Service.

How will Monash support me? We will provide a suitable place for you depending on your area of expertise We will arrange an initial interview between the supervising teacher, the Science in Schools Coordinator and yourself You will be fully supported by the qualified staff (many are teachers) of the Monash Science Centre

Why do it? What past students have said: "The Schools Science/ IT Tutoring Project determined my direction in life. It was only through this project did I discover my love for education and sharing of knowledge. It was the turning point in my education."

"While my future career is not likely to involve science, at recent interviews, all interviewers asked about the program and were very impressed with not only the program, but the skills it exposed me to."

Course Structure The school program will take place as a 3- point elective, CSE3396 in your Computer Science coursework. This will count as one of your free electives - not as a computer science elective.
