Using Concordia Libraries Concordia has 2 libraries: Webster & Vanier ID card is your library card Borrow 30 books for 3 weeks (subject to recall) Create PIN in MyCLUES on Library web siteLibrary web site Renew materials online Request materials Access online journals and databases from home

Using Other Libraries Get CREPUQ card at the Circulation Desk to borrow up to 3 books at other university libraries Use the Interlibrary Loans service to request books, articles, etc. from other libraries Check the catalogues of other library catalogues from the QUICKLINKS

Your research assignment Locate and evaluate sources of information about your artifact and its place in contemporary society. Find: Book(s) Scholarly journal(s) Popular media source(s)

Scholarly Publications Usually academic author and affiliation Published by university or recognized scholarly publisher Evidence of research and analysis; not just opinions Extensive bibliographies

Popular Publications author generally not associated with university or research often provides descriptions, biographies, opinions generally highly illustrated with lots of visuals doesn’t include bibliography

How to find the journals From database use Check E-journals page Check to find out if library has online subscription and if so, the date coverage Check CLUES Check for dates Get call no.
