12 Step 4: Simple Techniques for Improving Search Results  Use Truncation (asterisk character *) to find all variations of a root word; Asterisk * replaces all characters to the right of the word  e.g: child* Searches: child children childhood child’s  Enclose phrases i.e. “two or more words” with quotation marks Will retrieve the exact phrase:  e.g. “learning style*” AND “high school*” AND “academic performance”
