1 How do I use Find it! @ Concordia?

2 This article was found by searching for diabetes and First Nations in the Scopus database, but there is no PDF download option.

3 Clicking on allows you to see if the article is available through another database or in print in the Library

4 The Find it! @ Concordia link can provide up to 3 options for accessing an article

5 1 Option 1 If the article is available online, there will be a green banner with the phrase: “Click on the link(s) below to get the article”.

6 1 Clicking on any of the links under the green banner should take you directly to the article.

7 Clicking on a link opens a new page and access to the full text (in PDF or HTML) is available

8 Option 2 A search for glucose reactions in the Web of Science database retrieves an article with no PDF download option. Clicking on “Find Concordia” reveals that there is no green banner.

9 Option 2 If there are no direct links to the online article, try searching for the journal title in the Library catalogue 2

10 Clicking on the link opens the record in the Library Catalogue showing that the Library has a print copy of the journal

11 In this case, you can go to the Library
in person to find it on the shelf

12 Make sure to write down the journal’s location, call number, as well as the article citation (title, year, volume, issue, page numbers)

13 You can also click on the Article Delivery Service button to get the PDF of the article scanned and ed to you

14 Option 3 A search for community economic development and Montreal in the Sociological Abstracts database retrieves an article with no PDF download option. Clicking on “Find Concordia” reveals the article is not available online or in the Library.

15 Option 3 If the Library does not have the journal, use the Interlibrary Loans link to request the article from another library. 3

16 You will need to log in with your netname and password.
Then, the information about the article will be transferred into a form in the Library’s Interlibrary Loans (COLOMBO) service.

17 This service gets books and articles from other libraries.
In most cases, journal articles will be ed to you as a PDF.
