Journal Topic #1 Are you as healthy as you would like to be? What are 3 obstacles that may be keeping you from attaining? What are you hoping to learn in this class that will change your health behavior in the future?

Section 1: Health and Teens Health in the Past In the 1800’s and early 1900’s the leading causes of death in the U.S were infectious diseases: (flu, bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis) Health Today The leading cause of death today is lifestyle diseases: diseases caused partly by unhealthy behaviors and partly by other factors (diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers)

RISK FACTOR Anything that increases the likelihood of injury, disease, or other health problems
