Although several names exist for summaries, there are essentially two approaches This paper describes a new inertial navigation system for mapping oil and gas wells. In this paper, we will compare the mapping accuracy and speed for this new system against the accuracy and speed for conventional systems. Descriptive This paper describes a new inertial navigation system that will increase the mapping accuracy of oil wells by a factor of ten. The new system uses three-axis navigation that protects sensors from high-spin rates. The system also processes its information by Kalman filtering (a statistical sampling technique) in an on-site computer. Test results show the three-dimensional location accuracy is within 0.1 meters for every 100 meters of well depth, an accuracy ten times greater than conventional systems. Informative

General Abstract This research topic is a very important problem in the domain of Computer Science. Though numerous attempts have been made to accomplish this research goal, these approaches have assumptions that restrict their extension to more general cases. In this dissertation, the key factor in a generic and robust system is identified and a system is then developed using this idea. Preliminary results are provided to support the validity of the approach and demonstrate its capability to do this research under different testing criteria. Further improvements in performance are achieved through the development of additional techniques. The speed and efficiency of the algorithm is further improved using techniques to reduce the search space. Finally, the results of testing the system under a wide range of conditions are reviewed, demonstrating its capability and robustness.

3D Solder Bond Shape Extraction using Stereo Vision Solder Joint Inspection is a very important problem in the domain of Computer Vision. Though numerous attempts have been made to accomplish this inspection, these approaches have assumptions that restrict their extension to more general cases. In this dissertation, the key factor in a generic and robust system is identified as being the use of Epipolar geometry and a system is then developed using this idea. Preliminary results are provided to support the validity of the approach and demonstrate its capability to do solder joint inspection under different scale, orientation and viewpoint. Further improvements in performance are achieved through the use of spatiotemporal volumes. The speed and efficiency of the algorithm is further improved using [something else - I don’t know yet, but the objective of most improvements in algorithms is to reduce the search space] to reduce the search space. Finally, the results of testing the system under a wide range of imaging conditions are reviewed, demonstrating its capability and robustness.

Questions 1. What is the area of study? 2. What is the problem being tackled? 3. What does the literature say? 4. How did you tackle the problem? 5. How did you implement the solution? 6. What results have you gotten?

Sample Answers 1. “This research investigates the area of knowledge capture in the domain of knowledge management.” 2. “By introducing a new technology into my work place the staff will be able to record their ideas.” 3. “Existing research indicates that their may be benefits to capturing the organisational knowledge.” 4. “In this work a Wiki server was be introduced into the workplace, and logins provided to staff.” 5. “The Wiki has a range of templates to support the range of approaches to ideas generation.” 6. “Results suggest that the use of this Wiki has aided in capturing key organisational knowledge.”

Merge into abstract This research investigates the area of knowledge capture in the domain of knowledge management. By introducing a new technology into my work place the staff will be able to record their ideas. Existing research indicates that their may be benefits to capturing the organizational knowledge. In this work a Wiki server was be introduced into the workplace, and logins provided to staff. The Wiki has a range of templates to support the range of approaches to ideas generation. Results suggest that the use of this Wiki has aided in capturing key organisational knowledge.
