Industry development 1990s - “vertical services” over dedicated networks  At home – TV, Fixed voice  Out of home – mobile device (NMT/1G) Early 2000s - fixed networks converging: both offering broadband  At home – TV, online browsing, , fixed voice  Out of home – mobile voice, mobile data(GSM/2G) Mid-2000s, further fixed convergence with fixed infrastructures competing on the full service offering  At home – TV, online browsing, , fixed voice, DSL, home wifi  Out of home - mobile voice, mobile data(UMTS/3G) Early 2010s, services de-coupled and offering converged experience in combination with IP devices  At home and out of home (DSL, wifi, LTE/4G) Today and in future, boundaries between fixed and mobile usage increasingly blurring Consumers increasingly individual with insatiable appetite for connectivity and capacity  Exciting growth opportunities for integrated network players in this converging environment 2

Examples of strategic initiatives 4 3 year dual study programme – partnership between Vodafone and universities  Joint definition of the knowledge, skills, competencies for the study programmes  50 places  Rhythm of 3-months blocks study followed by 3 months practical experience  Subjects: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering  At the end of programme: deployment in a first role Career Forums as a key source to attract best class talent straight from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)  Strategic alliances, e.g. CEMS (Vienna event) – leverage Vodafone footprint  Target HEIs  „Young Innovators“ event – excite students for Vodafone through practical experience in innovation labs Global “Discover” graduate recruitment programme  600+ hires annually  Duration: months  New employees get assigned to specific (cross-functional) projects  At the end of the programme: deployment in a permanent role  Prerequisits: very good MSc, responsibility in internship projects, international experience, foreign languages
