MA Advertising and Marketing; MA Brand Management; MSc International Marketing Management MSc Digital Marketing Management MA Advertising and Marketing aims to prepare students to develop expertise and become professional practitioners in advertising and marketing by equipping students with the theoretical knowledge, skills and personal attributes required by employers from a range of public, private and voluntary organisations involved in marketing communications and/or advertising activities. Our graduates will be adaptable and reflective advertising and marketing communications specialists, capable of filling management level positions. The aim of MA Brand Management is to prepare students to develop the expertise to become professional brand managers in a range of sectors. Our graduates will develop into critical and reflective brand management specialists, capable of excelling across international boundaries and cultures. The course should appeal to students interested in increasing both their understanding of branding principles and strategic brand management decision making. The growing interest in luxury branding is critiqued within the course. The course includes the theoretical underpinning behind building a luxury brand that for example makes a customer wait for an extensive period of time for the latest ‘must have’ product or service. Building a successful brand is both an art and a science. In today’s world brands represent invaluable intangible assets and their creation and nurturing brings considerable challenges to brand managers. The course provides students with a comprehensive and up-to-date perspective on brands, brand equity and strategic brand management and approaches to managing a brand over different geographical areas. The course combines current thinking and developments surrounding global brand management with illustrative examples for students to draw from and particularly focuses on branding in an international context. The aim of MSc International Marketing Management is to prepare students to examine the management of the marketing process. Our graduates will develop into critical and reflective international marketing management specialists, capable of excelling across international boundaries and cultures. The aim of MSc Digital Marketing Management is to prepare students to develop the necessary skills and personal attributes to become professional digital marketing managers capable of managing the digital marketing team in a public, private or non-profit sector. The course has digital marketing management at its core, and provides students with the specialist knowledge and skills of a digital marketing manager to ‘develop their ability to apply knowledge and understanding of [digital marketing management] to complex issues both systematically and creatively’ (QAA Subject benchmark statement for the Masters’ awards in Business and Management, 2015). The course also develops significant general marketing management skills and covers marketing communications management and marketing planning related knowledge in order to prepare students to think strategically and to respond effectively to future organisational challenges.
