 Fast Track / Fall 2013 Interns  Sp/Su 3-6 practicum Registration will be open once internships have been awarded. After March 28 th.  Dates & Structure (Handout) Spring Term (10 credits) El Ed 322; El Ed 442; El Ed 443; El Ed 447; IP&T 444 Practicum dates: April 30–May 24 (T-F)  In district where you will do internship.  On campus on Mondays. Will register for IP&T 444 on Tue, Apr 30)  Will be spring & summer as a blended course.

 Fast Track / Fall 2013 Interns  Dates & Structure (Handout) Summer Term (9 credits) El Ed 441; El Ed 446; El Ed 445; TELL 477R (2 credit)*  Continue IP&T 444 (NS grade from spring) Classes held from June 24-Aug 1 Field Fridays TBD TELL 477R (2 credits)*  Complete initial requirements for practicum Observation of Teacher’s Instruction Teacher Interview Case Study  Complete remaining requirements (MSDLA) during internship & will register form remaining 2 credits.

 Internship  Internship Registration Once an internship has been awarded, students will be sent an detailing the application process with the Internship Office through IRAMS (Internship Registration and Management System) ESS will review & approve the IRAMS application, and then sends it back to the Internship Office. The Internship Office will then clear student of internship registration (El Ed 496R) Students must have a current Ecclesiastical Endorsement for school year before being allowed to register.

 Internship  Graduation (June 2014) Deadline - July 2013  Need current ecclesiastical endorsement to apply  Graduation Application Online at graduation.byu.edu  Graduation Approval Submit Application ESS reviews & indicates outstanding requirements. ESS sends with grad info & instructions. Reply to stating you have read & understand info. ESS approves application after reply.  Request to Walk Commencement ceremonies are only in April & August Jun 2014 grads can walk in April 2014 or Aug ESS assumes interns will walk in April ceremony. Must request to walk in August.  Request to Walk forms & questions meet with ESS advisor.

 Licensure  LiveText CDS – FED - TWS (Teacher Work Sample)  Praxis ESS must have official copy of “passed” Praxis score report.  Fingerprints Must have current background check with USOE at time of graduation & licensure recommendation.  Graduation Posted 1 st posting of degree is 2 weeks after graduation in Dec & Apr, 1 week in Jun & Aug. Last posting is 5 weeks after graduation in Dec & Apr, 3 weeks in Jun & 4 weeks in Aug.  Recommendation to the state w/ Endorsements  ESS  Student completes process with state.

 Winter 2014 Student Teachers  3-6 Practicum Dates & Times (Fall 2013) Approximately October 21 st – November 20 th Entire school day, Mon-Fri (8-3 *depending on school) Students sign-up for district when registering. School will be assigned  Fall Registration (UPDATE) Course number changes on Grad Plan El Ed 441 is the Framing Seminar El Ed 440 is now the Practicum Seminar El Ed Framing seminar Register for same section (instructor) as your El Ed 331 section.

 Fall Registration (UPDATE)  3-6 practicum registration will not be open until midnight Wed, April 3 rd. It will be open to all students at the same time. All students will be guaranteed a practicum placement.  Register for practicum El Ed 442 & seminar El Ed 440 as an Envelope in the Education category. Select the desired district by registering with the corresponding section number.  All other courses can be registered through priority registration.

 Praxis II Test   EL Ed Praxis Test Code – 5031 Multi-subject Test Reading and Language; Mathematics; Social Studies; and Science. If you have taken 5014 or 0014 prior to Sept 2012, it will still be valid (according to USOE). *Verify with USOE prior to student teaching Taken prior to starting student teaching/internship.  Test Preparation
