Reading Windows Windows 3.11 for Workgroups

Observations  Common look to applications  Program Manager window with identical icons  Logical grouping of tasks/operations  Accessories included  “Help” and Tutorial  Subgroup icons are more imaginative and informative

Windows 3.11 …  provides a graphical, full-screen interface to a personal computer.  enables user to move easily between applications.  provides a set of rudimentary tools for writing, drawing, calculating, manipulating and storing text, graphics and sounds.

Windows can be used…  by a broader range of people than would use a basic MS-DOS system  to support a range of activities providing additional software is installed.  for business, education, and entertainment purposes.

Expectations  User must know how to use a mouse.  User must have moderate to good technical aptitude to do more than use already installed applications.  User must have time and patience to take tutorial or read manuals (3).

Working with Windows  You can expand your system.  Facilitates connection to other computers via various networks.  The user can be connected to the outside world.
